The bronze gates of the Royal Engineers’ Memorial at the Brompton Barracks, Chatham, by Thomas Potter & Sons. 1860. The London Daily News announced their arrival in October 1860 with a flourish, calling them "massive", and "of the most elaborate workmanship, ... cast from the Russian cannon taken at Sebastopol, a sufficient number of guns having been presented by the Government for that purpose" (3).
