‘A fast thing across country,’1868. Wood-engraving on tinted paper, probably engraved by Swain. 6 x 8½ inches. Plate 4 in a Month in the Midlands. One of Bowers’s depictions of horses in full gallop, although her drawing of the steed is cartoonish rather than anatomically correct.
