Elizabeth I by Heaton, Butler & Bayne in the Great Hall of W. H. Crossland's Rochdale Town Hall, Lancashire. One of the splendid sequence of stained glass windows in the Great Hall depicting the British monarchs and their heraldry. Elizabeth's hair, face, jewellery, ruff and robes are all finely detailed, and fall naturally in a tour-de-force of glass-painting and leading. The windows have been recently and very skilfully restored.
