Caroline Murray read Classics at the University of Cambridge, and, after a Ph.D. which cured her of any desire for a scholarly career, worked at Cambridge University Press for nearly forty years. In retirement, she works part-time at the Fitzwilliam Museum, volunteers at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, writes about things that interest her on a blog, and visits Venice as often as possible.
