Christine Whittemore is a poet, essayist, and novelist, and has taught English language and creative writing. She grew up in England, has lived in Italy, New York City, Pennsylvania, and France, and is now back in her home county of Gloucestershire. Her poems and essays have appeared in various American and British journals and anthologies, and won several prizes, including a 1998 Fellowship in Literature from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Her novel, Inscription, won the Eludia Award from Hidden River Arts and was published by Sowilo Press in 2015. It was also longlisted in a Cinnamon Press contest and was a finalist in the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. Her poetry collection, Sudden Arabesque, was published in 2017 by Oversteps Books.
