This is a detail of women and children for the stained-glass window to the left of the three-light window of Christ Blessing Little Children at All Saints, Brightwalton, Berkshire, a church designed by George Edmund Street. Bill Waters describes this window as: “An unusual handling of the subject not based on previous iconography, it is conceived as a loosely medieval Pre-Raphaelite costume piece similar to a painting by Holman Hunt” (Angels & Icons, 140). — Dennis T.
