Jeremy Maas included in his exhibition an artist's proof of an 1880 mezzotint version (image) of Herkomer's portrait that the Fine Art Society (148 New Bond Street, London) published in an edition of 75. Maas quotes Ruskin's opinion that it is "a beautiful drawing of me, the first that has ever given what may be gleaned out of the clods of my face."
