Accession no. 1298309, bequeathed by Maurice Egerton, 4th Baron Egerton of Tatton (1874-1958), with the house, gardens and contents of Tatton Park.

The art critic Ellen Clayton commented on the "remarkable knowledge and power" of this artist's portraits, and also on her "intense love of beauty and splendid colouring" (258). These qualities are certainly on show here. — Jacqueline Banerjee
