"Another graceful souvenir of days spent in Italy is the Midday on Lake Como. There is something very fascinating in the vivid impression of sunlight which permeates the scene, and the feeling of stillness which pervades the whole atmosphere. There is a fascination in the tall slender tower of simple design which breaks the horizontal line of the distant shore, while the ilex-trees and sunlit houses in the foreground complete a charming picture."
