Spandrel Figures with Camels by an unknown sculptor, at 40 Threadneedle Street, in the alley leading to Adam’s Court. Ward-Jackon explains that “these premises were originally occupied” by the Oriental Bank Corporation, which is 1857 had offices in Walbrook and additional premises in South Sea House, Threadneedle Street. It has so far proved impossible to identify either the architect of the building or the sculptor responsible for these reliefs.”
