The left side, top, and right of the frame bear the following inscription: “Temple Bar Erected / 1672 by Sir C Wren Arch Removed 1878 This Memorial Erected 1880 by Horace Jones / Archt. V. P. R. I. B. A. [Vice President Royal Institute of British Architects]” Note Fortune's wheel peeping out behind her robes, the sculptor's signature at lower left, the London seal at bottom center, and the royal figures in niches of the arch.
