Camels (Peek Bros Trademark — Camel Caravan). 1884. Stone relief, approximately 1.5m high x 3m long. Peek House, 20 Eastcheap, on the south side of the street, at the junction with Lovat Lane, London EC3. Signed on the frame of the relief at the bottom right-hand corner: “W. THEED SC. / 1884.” These premises were the headquarters of Peek Bros & Co., dealers in tea, coffee and spices, built between 1883 and 1885 for Sir Henry Peek, son of one of the original founders of the firm.
