A review of the Women’s section at the Victorian Era Exhibition in The House stated: “Fig. 4, by Miss Awdry, is another very good example of copper repoussé work in low relief. There is just enough shadow to accentuate the design, and it has no sharp edges either to irritate the fingers or hold the dust. These pen-and-ink sketches serve the purpose of showing the lines of these patterns, but they fail to convey that delicacy of treatment which is their main charm.” [6 (August 1897): 242-43].
