“This antique Victorian, circa 1850, mahogany sideboard / chiffonier has four doors along with relatively small proportions for such a grand looking design. It has an unusual up-stand (removable if desired) with decorative scrolled sides. This sits above an inverted break fronted beautifully figured top below which can be found three mahogany lined frieze drawers with oval mouldings. The base contains four cupboard doors having arched moulded fronts with key and a single working lock. The central and right side cupboard contain a fixed shelf while the left cupboard has a sliding linen tray. This antique cupboard sits on an inverted break fronted plain plinth and still owns its original back boards. It has aged to a warm medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.”
