Meltem Kiran-Raw is Lecturer in English in the Department of American Literature and Culture, Baskent University, Ankara. Her Ph.D., completed in 1996, focused on 'Narrative Strategies in Ford Madox Ford's Parade's End and The Good Soldier'. Her current research interests include the nineteenth century historical novel, and the relationship of Victorian portraiture to the literature of the period.
