Koen Tanghe has kindly written in to say that this is a bust of Sir Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson, First Baronet (1849–1929), businessman, radical Liberal and for several years MP for Loughborough. In 2017, the bust was bought by antique dealer Drew Pritchard from his great-great grandson James Johnson-Ferguson, and later sold to a specialist collector of English sculpture.
