1 Priory Gardens, Bedford Park
E. J. May
1880
Turnham Green, London W4
This house has Dutch gables, a tall chimney stack, and other typical features of a Bedford Park house, including white joinery at the front. It is seen here from the side, where a plaque reads: "1 Priory Gardens 1880." Appropriately enough, the building now houses the headquarters of the Victorian Society, a very active group formed to protect the Victorian (and Edwardian) legacy in architecture and landscaping.
