The Round House (originally Petters Hotel). 1868. According to the information plaque on the pub’s exterior, “in 1860 Garrick Street was opened to improve access to Covent Garden Market and the theatres. Garrick Street became so popular that this public house was opened in 1868 as the ‘Petters Hotel’ and for the next 75 years became a famous watering hole for visitors a to the theatre and market tradesmen alike. In 1943 the Petters Hotel was renamed the Round House to complement the unmistakable shape of the building.”Click on images to enlarge them.
