Spare ties, rail, and sheds at Pocinho, Portugal. (on the Douro River). The oldest track used spikes, as a little mini-museum containing a handcar shows, and more recently these screws held rail in place. Modern track uses a range of sleeprs and fasteners. [A pile of these track screws.]
