I had assumed that this work reproduces an oil painting or watercolor, but the volume in which it appears provides no information about its portraits of Shakespeare’s women other than a title, artist, and engraver. Fortunately, Jacqueline Banerjee pointed out the oil painting at the Ashmolean. — George P. Landow
