One of the great sorrows of Triqueti's life was the loss of his only son Edward in an accident caused” by bolting horses. He was just twenty-one. Great religious sculptor that he was, in this bas-relief on the young man's arched headstone, Triqueti depicted Jesus comforting Martha before the raising of Lazarus. The text above is taken from John 11, verse 25 (in French): "I am the resurrection and the life he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live." Triqueti and his wife Julia were later buried here as well. The grave is well-tended and obviously visited. Not far away is the unnoticed headstone of Susan Durant.
